Our philosophy is that with convergence comes immense opportunity for organisations to change the way they provide business communication, applications and video to their employees, partners and customers.
Traditionally we have thought in terms of infrastructure products: servers, storage and devices. It’s on these that we have installed systems such as email, payroll and telephony and in some cases we have made the step to deliver business solutions such as ERP, Office and Unified Communications. This approach provides point solutions to point problems and we spend considerable time getting these systems to co-exist and operate together.
Two fundamental technology advances are changing this. Virtualisation and Cloud computing enable organisations to pool infrastructure components together within data centres, sharing servers and storage across many applications - reducing server sprawl, improving manageability and achieving higher levels of availability. The second change is the converged network. No longer are separate infrastructures required for voice, data and video; it can all co-exist over the single converged network. And what is more, this converged network enables seamless working across the entire organisation from head office to branch offices, from home workers to mobile workers, and it is even extendable to partners and customers.
